Spring-Clamp Stop Block

Cutting boards to the same length on a table saw or miter saw? Make an L-shaped block from scrap wood to ride along a homemade miter-gauge fence.

The Family Handyman

Here’s a stop block that works great for cutting boards to the same length on a table saw or miter saw. Make an L-shaped block from scrap wood to ride along a homemade miter-gauge fence. Drill a hole in one jaw of a strong-grip clamp, then screw the L-block to the inside of the jaw. Apply a square of adhesive-backed sandpaper to the fence side of the L-block for an extra-tight grip.
