The Family Handyman

When the miter gauge on your saw or sander starts to stick, grab a pencil and lubricate the miter slot with a few quick strokes of the pencil lead (which is really graphite, a great dry lubricant that won’t attract dust). You’ll find this lube job helpful for any sliding metal parts that get tacky from lack of use. Our thanks to James Tarone for pointing out this great tip.
