Reader Mitch Adrian showed us a new twist on an old tool. Use a folding ruler to copy an angle, then trace it onto plywood, countertops or flooring materials.
Bend on joint of the ruler to the angle you need. Lock the angle with a spring or C-clamp, then hold one leg against the edge of the workpiece and trace the cutting line. Although the result will be “pretty close,” it won’t be perfect, so this isn’t the best technique for exacting projects.
