We finally got the hang of preserving partially used caulk tubes from resourceful reader Stephen Hoke. Seal the tube by twisting a screw eye or hook into the nozzle, then hang it on a nail or Peg-Board. Use 3/16-in. or 3/8-in. dia. screw eyes or hooks depending on the size nozzle opening you like. The screw threads create a nearly airtight seal by burrowing into the plastic nozzle, but you can reinforce the seal by wrapping electrical tape around the nozzle
