Sometimes bulky clamps just won’t do. When gluing up small projects such as a cutting board, a caulk gun is an ideal clamp because it’s compact and applies light pressure that is adjustable. Simply add glue to the workpiece and then place it between a couple blocks of scrap wood or cardboard. Position the entire assembly between the ends of the caulk gun. The scrap pieces protect the work from marks and provide a flat surface for even pressure when clamping.
To increase pressure on the workpiece, slowly squeeze the caulk gun’s trigger. Once the glue is dry, pull back on the hook to release the pressure from the caulk gun.
