This holiday season, you don’t have to worry about bundling up and spending an afternoon in a Christmas tree lot. You can completely skip tying the tree to the top of your car. Instead, just have your fresh Christmas tree delivered to your front door.
Beginning in November, Amazon will sell 6-6.5-foot live, fresh Christmas trees. Amazon previously sold live trees shorter than 3 feet, but decided to go big for 2019. Some of the trees will qualify for Amazon Prime free shipping.
“Given the popularity among customers, we increased the assortment,” the company noted in a press release.
Tree Buying Details
According to an Amazon holiday preview book, a 7-foot Fraser fir from a North Carolina farm will cost you $115. Other live holiday decorations, including a $50 wreath, a $25 plant and various sizes of garland will also be available.
Your Amazon Christmas tree will be boxed and sent within 10 days of being cut and will be shipped without water. Buyers will be able to choose a delivery date to ensure freshness.
The price of the trees on Amazon will be a bit higher than the national average. According to the National Christmas Tree Association, the average price of a live Christmas tree in 2016 was $75. Approximately 25 to 30 million real Christmas trees are sold in the U.S. each year. Of that number, the association estimated that only 1 to 2 percent of trees purchased in 2017 were bought online.
Ready to skip the trip to the Christmas tree farm? This November, just log onto Amazon, order your tree and have it delivered straight to your door. While you can avoid the hassle of the tree lot, you’re still on the hook for decorating.
