A little plastic wrap can help a lot with a glueing project.

When you’re making a panel by gluing together several boards, clamp cauls near the ends of the boards to keep them aligned as the glue sets. To keep the cauls from sticking to the panel, enclose them in plastic wrap. When you remove the clamps, just scrape the wrap free from the hardened glue. — Carl Engstrom
