How to Hang a Heavy Mirror on Drywall

Monkey Hooks
Monkey Hooks are simple devices that allow you to hang a mirror or other object on drywall easily. In fact, installing a Monkey Hook is so easy you do not even need any tools aside from a tape measure and pencil for proper positioning. You simply push and twist the device to insert it into the wall. Due to its thin gauge, wall damage is minimal with only a small hole left behind should you ever decide to remove it. Monkey Hooks are capable of supporting up to 35 pounds.
Gorilla Hooks
Gorilla Hooks are similar to Monkey Hooks, but have a heavier gauge, which allows them to support heavier objects. You install a Gorilla Hook the same way that you do a Monkey Hook, by pushing and twisting the device into the wall. Gorilla Hooks are capable of supporting up to 50 pounds. Mirror Tape
Another convenient way to hang a mirror is by using Scotch Clear Mounting Tape. The double-sided tape can support up to 10 pounds and is ideal for mounting glass, tile and artwork. Plastic wall anchors have come along way since they first hit the market. This handy device is available in a wide variety of sizes to handle varying weights. While a hollow wall anchor creates a larger hole than those mentioned previously, the damage is still minimal. Installation is a breeze, as you simply screw the self-tapping device into the wall where you need it.
