Our most recent project here at Family Handyman entailed restoring a 1972 Avion camper. This was a ton of work but a lot of fun, and today we’d like to show you a few of our favorite products we found for the project. Here are some of the best ideas that will help you maximize camper storage as a part of your upgrade.
Sure Call Cell Phone Booster
Avoiding the cell phone when out on a camping excursion can be easier said than done. What if you have an emergency, need directions, or can’t resist catching up on your latest TV series? The Fusion2Go 3.0 Cell Phone Booster is the answer to all those what-ifs. Optimized for recreational vehicles, it will double your cell reception and allow multiple users simultaneously. It works with all major North American cell phone providers and is 5G compatible.
Anker Nebula Capsule Projector
Feel like taking your movies and entertainment with you? This soda can sized projector will put up an image that’s a 100 inches wide with impressive 360-degree sound, and will run for four hours on one USB charge. You can connect with HDMI or USB, or use Bluetooth, Miracast or Airplay directly from your device of choice. We built a small projection screen in our trailer but this thing will work on just about any surface. Truly a big screen experience in a small package.
MB Quart Sound System
The folks at MB Quart put together an amazing sound system for the inside of our Ultimate Camper. It’s centered around their MDR2.0 digital source unit which has AM/FM/Weather Band radio and Bluetooth quick pair connectivity. You can also use the direct USB auxiliary input to feed its 160 watts of peak power. From this receiver we patched out to MB Quart’s NSB6V1 sound bar and their NF1-116 Coaxial speakers. The 400 watt soundbar has six speakers and is also Bluetooth capable for independent use. The Nautic coaxial speakers sound great and are marine certified, just like the source unit and sound bar, so all these components could function just as well outside your camper, RV, ATV or boat. If you want to get your rig a-rocking, these MB Quart components won’t disappoint.
Boogey Lights RV Under Light Kit
This Boogey Under Light Kit was the perfect finishing touch for the outside of our Ultimate Camper. The kit came with two 16 foot multi-color LED light strips, each with 15 additional feet of power lead cable. Choose between two styles of remote controls, or you can operate with your phone via the Bluetooth App. The strips easily mount to the bottom of an RV, camper or trailer with 3M backing tape and can be cut to length every three LEDs. Our install was straightforward and the results looked great.
