8 Clutter-Free Laundry Room Cabinet Ideas
The right cabinets in your laundry room will keep it clean and organized, no matter how many loads you're washing!
Laundry Room Cabinets
As a writer for Family Handyman, I’ve seen a lot of laundry room inspiration over the years. And while I love all those little things that keep laundry spaces organized — moving your soap into a clear jar, adding a cute bin to collect lint, etc. — only one element will truly make yours clutter-free. Cabinets!
The right cabinetry layout hides clutter behind closed doors and makes your laundry process more efficient. Options include built-in hampers, or a pull-out folding drawer.
I know installing cabinets takes a lot more work and expense than buying a few bins, but the investment is worth it. Here are some stunning laundry rooms to prove my point.
The upper and lower cabinets wrap around the entire space. So there’s room for laundry and cleaning supplies, plus non-laundry things like gift wrapping and essential pet items. You can never have too many cabinets.
The soft, sage green doors seen here are from Semihandmade, a company that provides beautiful, ready-to-paint doors to fit standard IKEA cabinet boxes. You can get a custom look without the custom price!
DIY Painted Cabinets
If new laundry room cabinets aren’t in your budget, paint your old ones for a new look.
These dated cabinets from @reclaimed_cottage got refreshed with a cheerful green paint job (Northern Glen by Valspar). She also removed the door from the cabinet above the sink. This breaks up all the cabinetry and creates a space for cute accessories.
The dark green cabinetry makes this laundry room from @oakville_interiors sleek and clean. Upper and lower cabinets plus wide drawers keep everything nice and tidy. And, surprise! The drawers are actually freezers filled with frozen treats!
Small Space Cabinets
You might not think you have room for cabinets in a small laundry room, but even just a couple can make a big difference in conquering clutter.
There are only two simple cabinets above the washer and dryer in this petite laundry room from @cabinetjoint. But notice how they reach almost all the way to the ceiling, the largest size this small space can accommodate.

@diyplaybook Our laundry room is the hardest working room in our house. With two young kids, we do lots of laundry!
