Quikrete’s Re-Cap Concrete Resurfacer is a great way to do much-needed repair work on a concrete slab without tearing the whole thing up and replacing it straight away. The resurfacer makes an old driveway look new by covering the existing concrete with a thin layer of a special blend of Portland cement, sand, polymer and other additives. It can be applied with a squeegee, trowel, or brush- just make sure that the concrete being covered is completely clean, otherwise the two substances might not bond together entirely. Quikrete’s Concrete Resurfacer can reinvigorate sidewalks, pool decks, concrete floors, and pretty much any other concrete surface that is worn and faded.
Milwaukee continues to expand their line of REDSTICK levels with the new 48” -78” Magnetic Expandable level. In order to be effective, expandable levels need to be able to not only expand, but then lock in place at a specific length. In a lot of cheaply made expandable levels, the internal components wear down and lose the ability to keep a level locked in its expanded form. To prevent this, Milwaukee made sure to build this level with durable, reinforced internal parts that will resist damage and wear. Even the lock itself is inset and protected in order to maintain precise control over the extendable arm. Plus, these levels feature amplified rare earth magnets that will hold a level firmly in place when installing things like commercial doors and windows. The 48”-78” Magnetic Expandable Level from Milwaukee Tool will be available for sale starting April, 2019, for $249.00.
Crescent Lufkin’s new Shockforce tape are packed full of the “little things” that separate “good” tools from “great” ones. The housing is durable, compact and easy to grip, with steel guard rails providing protection around the lock button. The tape itself is covered in a nylon blade coating that protects it from scuffs and other markings. The blade is also conveniently double-sided and has a 360-degree end hook with a diamond-abrasive coating that will latch and hold onto surfaces better. The Shockforce tape measure also comes in a “Nite Eye” model that has all the same features as the regular model, plus a high-visibility, no glare blade with green marking for easier readings in all light conditions.
For many construction pros, the work day starts in the dark hours before dawn and doesn’t end until long after the sun has already gone back down. Weather Guard’s latest truck box solves a few of the problems this work schedule can present through the incorporation of integrated, vehicle-powered lighting. Their Model 127 Saddle Box now features PowerSync Lights that will illuminate the entire truck box even in the darkest conditions. That means no more fumbling around in the dark with a flickering flashlight tucked under your chin trying to find the right tool in a shadowy tuck box. These lighted saddle boxes have all of the regular features shared by other Weather Guard truck boxes: they are sturdy, easy to install, and dependable, with a Clear Coat finish for added durability.
A lot of nasty stuff can be released into the air during the demolition process. Airthings’ Wave Plus Air Quality Monitors can help make sure that workers aren’t breathing in anything dangerous. The Wave Plus tracks indoor air quality in real time with six sensors that will detect radon, CO2, TVOCs, humidity, temperature and air pressure. The device connects wirelessly with smartphones, making it easy to keep an eye on air quality. With a Wave Plus plugged in at the jobsite, construction workers can tear down walls and rip up floors without worrying that they’re going to be unknowingly breathing in anything harmful. The Wave Plus Air Quality Monitor is available now online for $269.00.
The jobsite is a workplace, and no workplace can really be complete without a coffeemaker. Makita’s new cordless coffee maker can brew up to three five-ounce cups of coffee on a single charge, more than enough to satisfy even the most hardcore caffeine addicts. It’s important to note that we here at CPT have not actually tasted any coffee made with this machine, so we cannot judge it for quality. But the machine itself seems well-made, is very compact, does not use paper filters, and makes a five-ounce cup in five minutes.

This mower is designed to run all day long, with “Smart Cut” technology automatically adjusting speed to get the most efficient performance out of the mower’s GMS 250 mower.
