A new roof carries a hefty up-front price tag but the 2019 Remodeling Impact Report reveals that roofing is the number one exterior renovation to consider when homeowners are contemplating a move. In fact, 39 percent of Realtors suggest this exterior renovation project before homeowners attempt to sell and a whopping 33 percent said it helped the home sale close faster. Vinyl Windows

Homeowners should consider the return on investment when prioritizing exterior renovation projects. Does replacing existing windows with vinyl add value and curb appeal? Yes, replacing old wood or aluminum windows with vinyl ones does boost a home’s value and sometimes helps it sell. Although replacing a garage door offers the best return-on-investment (ROI) when it comes to recouping cost at resale, does it help a home sell? According to the report, 16 percent of Realtors say it’s an exterior renovation worth tackling, and 2 percent said the project helped close a sale. Vinyl Siding

While vinyl siding has a host of advantages, including an updated appearance, durability, low maintenance and energy efficiency, it may not help a home actually sell. Only 4 percent of the Realtors surveyed would suggest it as an exterior renovation to prioritize and 1 percent said it resulted in a sale.
