Landscape fabric staples. You’ll find them right next to the fabric in stores, but most people don’t bother to use them. Make sure the edges of the fabric overlap by at least 3 in. And don’t skimp on the staples; place them about 16 in. apart. Anchor landscape fabric at seams and around the perimeter with staples. In hard soil, start the staples by hand and then push them in with your foot.
