Learn About Different Species of Trees

It helps to know a little about the different types of Christmas trees out there in order to narrow down your decision. Here are the 10 best species of Christmas trees.

Do a Branch/Needle Test for Freshness

The National Christmas Tree Association suggests that you run a branch through your closed hand. The needles shouldn’t come off easily. Check out the branches, too. They should flex but if they break, the tree is too dry.

Look for Dryness/Deterioration Indicators

Other things to look for with a tree are discolored foliage, a musty smell or wrinkled bark.

As always be safe with your Christmas tree once you get it home.
