Always carefully inspect the bristles

Health experts reported this past summer that bristles on some grill brushes can break off and wind up in your food and then your throat, requiring surgery for removal. Leaving a grill brush in the sun can cause the brush head to crack or warp and shed bristles. Toss your grill brush if the bristles are worn or rusted. If it looks good, try to pluck out a single bristle. If you can remove a bristle with moderate effort, it’s time for a new brush.
