The internet is rife with bedding brands that make all sorts of claims. Some promise the best night’s sleep of your life while others would have you believe that products are made with unicorn fluff and stardust. In reality, quality sleep products can be rather hard to find. And when you do find high-quality goods, you’re likely to pay a premium. Whether we’re talking about a product that doesn’t quite live up to the hype or one that is simply overpriced, we know that the last thing you want is to feel is buyer’s remorse. That’s where we come in.
We stumbled upon Silk & Snow, which markets itself as a purpose-driven brand dedicated to making eco-friendly products. The brand carries a large selection of natural and organic home goods at attainable prices. In order to find out if it truly delivers on quality and comfort, we tested a handful of products across several categories. Overall, we found it to be a great value. Our Silk and Snow reviews will tell you everything you need to know.
From bedding to furniture, all of Silk & Snow's products are designed to completely transform your space.
Silk & Snow is a Canadian company that was founded in 2017. The brand responsibly sources of its high-quality, raw materials from European flax linen to Acacia wood sourced from Vietnam. Those materials are then sent off to carefully vetted craftsmen for manufacturing. Silk & Snow offers everything you’ll need to completely transform your space, from bedding to furniture. They even make a cozy bathrobe that you can wear while enjoying your new and improved room.

In order to gain a real sense of the brand overall, our team here at Family Handyman has tested products in several categories. We’ve evaluated each product on its packaging, quality and longevity. And while Silk & Snow is more budget-friendly than some other brands we’ve tested, we assure you that it holds up just as well.
Content Director Nicole Doster is a longtime fan of Silk & Snow’s linen bedsheets, even going so far as to categorize them as some of the best cooling sheets on the market. Nicole was also excited to try the brand’s percale bed sheets. These crisp bedsheets are made in Portugal using 100% natural cotton and natural dyes. They have Standard 100 by Oeko-Tex certification, meaning they are made without the use of harmful chemicals or synthetics. Best of all, a queen set retails for just $125 which is a bargain compared to some other sets we’ve tested. And no, their reasonable price tag doesn’t mean you’ll be looking to replace them anytime soon.
“They’ve definitely held up over time and have become softer,” says Nicole. In addition to becoming softer, Nicole adds that they’ve also faded slightly after months of use. However, she’s glad that they did. “I prefer them slightly faded,” she says. “They were very slick and shiny when I first received them.”

In addition to their dreamy bed sheets, Silk & Snow offers a selection of comforters, quilts, coverlets and blankets. Deputy Editor Katie Bandurski has been cozying up with a hand knitted weighted blanket for months now and couldn’t be happier. “As someone who suffers from anxiety, this blanket really helps me ‘turn my brain off,’ raves Katie.
“After a tough day, it helps me slow down my thoughts and focus instead on soothing pressure.” Katie opted for the 20-pound blanket which offers a prominent hugging sensation, according to the brand’s website. While this may seem heavy, Katie insists that the chunky knit design and 100% organic cotton fibers ensure the blanket is breathable. “It provides cozy, comforting pressure without being too hot or smothering,” she says. The only thing Katie found disappointing were the care instructions, which suggest making sure your washing machine is able to handle the weight of the blanket.
“I am disappointed in the care instructions. It claims to be machine-washable, but only if I can ‘ensure my washing machine can handle the weight of the blanket before attempting to wash it,'” she explains. “I’ll likely just spot treat and set out in the sun when the weather gets nice, but I don’t love knowing I might not be able to ever properly wash it.”
This blanket is made with 100% natural cotton and features a chunky knit design that makes it cozy and comforting yet breathable.
While we’re on the subject of bedding and all things cozy, Silk & Snow makes one of our favorite non-toxic mattresses. The Silk & Snow organic mattress features a mix of soft and firm pocket spring coils that offer zoned support and pain relief. It’s made using chemical- and synthetic-free latex, wool, cotton and double-tempered Canadian steel coils. It has received certifications from the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS), Global Organic Latex Standard (GOLS), OEKO-TEX Standard 100 and Eco-Institut. In other words, you don’t have to worry about sharing your bed with heavy metals, VOCs, pesticides or other harmful chemicals.
“I’m a troubled sleeper who often suffers from insomnia, frequent wakings with trouble falling back asleep, and tossing and turning,” says our product tester, Sabrina Tillman in her full Silk & Snow mattress review. “This year I started experiencing chronic neck and shoulder pain after waking up.” Initially, Sabrina thought her pillows could be the culprit. But when new pillows didn’t help, she decided to replace her clearance mattress with a Silk & Snow mattress. The relief was almost instant.
“I noticed a positive difference in my neck and shoulder pain after the first night of sleep. After 30 days, I’m amazingly pain-free in my neck and shoulders when I wake up, despite spending hours a day hunched over a laptop,” she raves. “I also feel generally less creaky and achy when I get out of bed. Even with the plush pillow top, the mattress is relatively firm and holds its shape versus cocooning you.”
Better yet, in spite of not having any marketed cooling features, this mattress did a fantastic job regulating Sabrina’s body temperature even in the middle of summer. “I wasn’t sure how well the organic cotton and wool would regulate my body temperature,” she admits. “But I was pleasantly surprised to note that I didn’t feel too warm while sleeping and didn’t wake up sweaty once.”
This hybrid mattress features breathable latex, pocket coils and zoned support.
Of course, if you’re going to invest in a new mattress, you’ll want to protect it with one of the best mattress toppers. Expert product reviewer Pamela Bondurant tested the Silk & Snow organic mattress topper and determined that it’s a great option for hot sleepers. ““It was very comfortable and did not make my bed hot,” she says. That’s due to the fact that it’s made of breathable, GOLS-certified organic latex. It comes in two firmness options and offers plenty of support.
“I like a firm mattress and was concerned that it would make my mattress feel too soft and squishy, but it didn’t do that,” says Pamela. And if you do happen to sweat, never fear. This mattress topper features a removable cover that you can toss in your washing machine with the rest of your bedding.
This mattress topper is made using GOLS-certified organic latex and has a machine washable GOTS-certified organic cotton cover.
New furniture will jazz up any space. And yep! You can find some pretty amazing furniture at Silk & Snow. “If you’re looking for a cloud-couch dupe on a budget, this Silk & Snow sectional is hard to beat,” raves shopping editor Mary Henn. “It’s one of the larger sectionals on our list—and the most affordable for its size and quality.”
Mary was drawn to this sofa because of its sleek, modern design, flexible modular layout and stain-resistant fabric. We repeat: stain-resistant fabric. With a toddler at home, this feature was especially important to Mary who ordered a six-seater L-shaped configuration for her basement. “I was nervous about going with cream, but Silk & Snow’s stain-resistant fabric holds up. So far, all spills have been wiped clean,” she says. “We had one juice incident, but it was no match for the Shark StainStriker.”
After months of frequent use, Mary’s Silk & Snow couch continues to deliver firm, supportive seating that resists sagging. “My family has loved it for basement movie nights,” she says. “If I’m being picky, I do wish the seat depth was a bit wider. There is a deluxe version with deeper seats, but the dimensions are different, and the regular seat option fits our space perfectly—and that was more important.”
While Mary was cuddling up for movie nights on her Silk & Snow sofa, shopping editor Emily Way was resting up on her Silk & Snow bed frame with storage. Despite some customer reviews which claim the bed isn’t sturdy, Emily found the opposite to be true. “I think the fact that it’s assembled by hand explains the wildly different experiences with this bed,” she explains. “When assembling, it’s important to take your time and properly tighten every connection. Otherwise, the joints will loosen over time.”
Overall, Emily couldn’t be happier with her new bed. “This bed frame is so modern and pretty! I love its clean look,” she gushes. “The headboard is nice and soft, and the neutral color looks great with my minimalist decor. I love that the entire underside of the bed is closed off. This prevents my cats from running amok under there.” And, of course, Emily found the large storage drawer to be especially useful, making this one of the best bed frames we’ve tested.
It’s not uncommon to find that products labeled organic, non-toxic and sustainable are more expensive. In some cases, they can be downright cost prohibitive. That’s not the case with Silk & Snow. Everything they offer is certified organic, designed to last and, best of all, reasonably priced. Better still, Silk & Snow runs frequent sales on all of their best-selling products. And on top of that, the brand has a generous return policy. For instance, mattresses have a 365-night trial period, mattress toppers and bedding have a 100-night trial period and bed frames have a 30-day trial period. However, we’re confident you’ll love your Silk & Snow items so much that you won’t want to return them.
