Woodworker Kimberly Gilbert showed us a swift way to churn out wood plugs for furniture projects. Buy a plug cutter from a woodworking supplier. (One source is Woodcraft Supply, www.woodcraft.com.) Using a drill press and a fence for stability, cut plugs along your board of choice. Saw off the plugs with a band saw or handsaw, then return to the drill press and cut another set. Advantage over store-bought plugs? You can cut them to match your project or from your favorite woods not available in plug form.
