Celebrities have the golden ticket to some of the most incredible pieces of real estate in the world. So what’s there to fight about? Apparently a lot! We’ve rounded up some of the most outrageous celebrity feuds over property.

Madonna vs. Neighbor Karen George

In 2009, Madonna’s neighbor Karen George filed a lawsuit against the superstar for using her apartment as a rehearsal space. The lawsuit lasted two years. George claimed the singer would blare music, stomp and shake the walls. In 2011, Madonna moved her rehearsal space to an actual studio.

Tracy Morgan vs. Sherri Shepherd

As if it isn’t crazy enough that Tracy Morgan has owned a custom shark tank in his Manhattan apartment, the 2,700-gallon tank was the source of damage to another celebrity’s home. In 2009, a malfunctioning light in the shark tank caused a fire that set off the building’s sprinkler system. On an episode of The View, Sherri Shepherd reported that her entire apartment was flooded as a result.

Hulk Hogan vs. Neighbors

In 2005, the famous wrestler acquired five chickens, one rooster, six dogs, a cat, bird cages and a ferret at his Bel-Air home. The neighbors were not impressed, claiming the animals caused “loud and frequent noise and an unsanitary stench.”

Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin vs. Neighbor

In 2013, then-married celebrity couple Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin put up a 9-foot-tall gate in front of their house. The gate was so massive it stood far above the legal height limit of 6 feet. One neighbor was so mad they filed a complaint, calling the gargantuan gate an eyesore. The couple had 45 days to fix any violations.

Billy Corgan vs. Eric Dane and Rebecca Gayheart

In 2012, Smashing Pumpkins front man Billy Corgan ignored warnings from actor Eric Dane about the instability of trees on his land. One of the trees ultimately crashed through Dane’s roof, almost killing his actress wife, Rebecca Gayheart.

Sylvester Stallone vs. Vin Scully

The iconic voice of the Los Angeles Dodgers, Vin Scully sued Sylvester Stallone back in 1993 for rainwater runoff from the actor’s yard that caused damage to Scully’s home. Stallone had to pay Scully $69,000 to repair the damage.

Justin Bieber vs. Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell

Justin Bieber has a checkered past as neighbor, from throwing eggs to speeding in his luxury sports cars. In 2012, celebrity couple Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell even compared living next to Bieber to “living in Lebanon.”

These small towns were put on the map thanks to eager fans seeking filming locations from their favorite TV shows.

Hilary Duff vs. Dieter Addison

In 2018, actress Hilary Duff took to Instagram to blast her neighbor Dieter Addison, claiming he “smokes cigarettes and weed all night long,” habits that resulted in an unbearable smell. She also said, “We know your parents pay your rent. We know you’ve never worked a day in your life. Must be nice. Have some respect for your neighbors who work hard to live in the building.” Addison did not stay silent, publicly proclaiming that Duff’s boyfriend tried to punch him in the face the next day.
