Deals We Love: Lawn Care and Pest Control Subscriptions
These home maintenance subscriptions take the guesswork out of lawn care and pest control.
Every editorial product is independently selected, though we may be compensated or receive an affiliate commission if you buy something through our links.
We all know that when the weather cools down, lawns become less of a priority and pests start searching for warmer places to winter. This week on Deals We Love, we’re tackling the outdoor subscription space with two relatively new products that will keep your grass healthy year-round and keep your home free of creepy crawlies.
Sunday Lawn Care products are delivered as part of a “smart lawn plan” that is customized for your lawn’s geography, soil health and grass type. Pestie delivers pro-quality pest control “bundles” every quarter with easy-to-follow instructions and a formula that has been customized to your geographic region.

Sunday Lawn Care
Sunday Lawn Care was launched in 2019 to redefine how homeowners can achieve a healthy lawn. “The current way to get a green yard is antiquated, confusing and totally toxic,” according to its website.
Colorado-based brothers Coulter and Trent Lewis set out to create natural lawn care products that deliver the right nutrients, in the right amount, at the right time of year. Their approach allows homeowners to ditch dangerous chemical pesticides and fertilizers for good.
Sunday uses more than a dozen nutrient pouches to ensure your lawn has what it needs to flourish. Most “smart lawn plans” (i.e., subscriptions) include three shipments of nutrients with two to four pouches in each shipment.
Every new lawn plan begins with a free laboratory soil test, so you can see what’s in your soil and adjust the nutrients in your plan if deficiencies are found. If you’re worried about white-coated grass scientists coming to your home to take soil samples, don’t. The company uses an advanced database of satellite imagery, local weather patterns and soil/climate science to create your smart lawn plan. You collect the soil to send back to Sunday’s laboratory for analysis.
Why We Love It: First, we love Sunday’s commitment to the environment. Unlike harsh pesticides and fertilizers, the natural ingredients make its lawn care products safe for people, pets, birds, bees and anything else in your ecosystem. We also love that one percent of all sales go to restoring native tall grass prairies.
Second, we love when people who have actually used the product seem satisfied. Of the 1,056 product reviews on the Sunday site, more than 71 percent of customers gave it five stars, the highest rating, with an additional 17 percent awarding it four stars.
Pestie was launched in 2019 to help homeowners circumvent the astronomical prices some pest-control companies were charging. By getting rid of traditional overhead cost — i.e., sales reps, technicians, trucks, equipment, etc. — it passes along savings to consumers and puts the power of pest control in their hands.
Pestie partners with pest control manufacturers to hand-select and ship pesticides that are optimized for each consumer’s location and the insects common to their area. The list of bugs Pestie products work on numbers more than 100, but all the usual suspects are there, including ants, cockroaches, earwigs, fleas, ticks and spiders. They even tackle hornets and yellow jackets.
The exact details of each shipment — including active ingredients and Environmental Protection Agency registration numbers — can be found at checkout, so consumers are never asked to purchase something they don’t approve of. Each pest control “bundle” (i.e., subscription) includes the active ingredient for the consumers’ area, an applicator and instructions for use. Each bundle can cover up to 5,500 sq. ft. and the company insists applications take only a few minutes.
Why We Love It: First, for a pesticide, Pestie is one of the gentlest ones we’ve seen. It’s safe to use around kids, pets, plants, trees, flowers, grass and shrubs — just avoid the veggies and other edibles.
Second, we love companies that stand behind their products. Pestie operates under a “fully guaranteed” policy, which means they’ll do whatever it takes to keep customers happy, including offering full refunds.
Finally, Pestie is smack-dab in the middle of its Summer Sale, which means an annual subscription — including four kits, shipped once per quarter — is 38 percent off and comes in at just under $100.
