Jerry Seinfeld’s Souped-Up Porsche 911 Is Up for Auction for How Much?!
It’s a dream of car lovers everywhere: buy a classic car, fix it up and modify it to your exact specifications, transforming it into your dream ride. Unfortunately, pulling off a classic car refurbishment requires enormous amounts of time, money and resources.
That’s less of a problem if you’re Jerry Seinfeld, comedy legend and the co-creator and star of one of the most influential sitcoms of all time. A noted car enthusiast, Seinfeld has been known to enjoy a classic automobile or two. Back in 2008, he purchased a 1971 Porsche 911S Coupe and had it fully refurbished and modified.
Now that exact car is available for auction, which means another wealthy gearhead will soon be able to enjoy the work that’s been done to it. Let’s take a look at Jerry’s ’71 Porsche, how he upgraded it and how much it might end up costing its new owner.
History of the Porsche 911

The Porsche 911 has become a mainstay in car culture, winning awards and remaining consistently popular since it was first released in 1964. The 1971 model Seinfeld purchased in 2008 was originally purchased from a Porsche dealership in Colorado and remained with the original owner until 1999.
What modifications were made?
Once Seinfeld purchased the Porsche, he had it shipped straight to the car manufacturer RUF in Pfaffenhausen, Germany. Once there, the car was put through a series of upgrades, including:
- A twin-plug 3.4L flat-six with individual throttle bodies
- An electronic fuel injection
- A six-speed manual transaxle
- Reinforced chassis and upgraded suspension
- A G50 rear torsion tube
- 930 disc brakes
- Flared rear wheel arches
- Exterior repainted in Gemini Blue Metallic
- Redone interior with Pepita (a famous Porsche fabric), leather upholstery and lightweight door panels
- Upgraded oil coolers
- Fuchs 15” wheels,
- Power-operated sunroof
- H4 headlights
- Blaupunkt AM/FM radio.
What’s the Current Bid?
At the time of publication, Seinfeld’s Porsche 911 is currently listed on the popular car auctioning site “Bring a Trailer” with a current bid of $501,911 USD. The auction is set to last until October 16th, so the price is likely to continue rising as more enthusiasts become aware that the vehicle is on the market.
