How to Set a Table Saw Ripping Scale
In the video and description below, Travis shows you how to set a table saw ripping scale so you don't have to measure each time you rip a board.
Grab a board of a known width, such as a 1×6, which is exactly 5-1/2 in.
Adjust the fence so the board barely kisses a tooth when the fence is locked in place.
Set the hairline on the scale until it’s exactly 5-1/2 in. Then you’ll know you can trust your scale rather than measuring between the blade and the fence every time you rip a board.
