When adding insulation to crawl space walls. I run the insulation horizontal and use strips of wood about every 5 foot nailed to floor joyce to hold them in place. A lot less cutting this way.

I've had a neighbor that added fiberglass insulation on their wooden garage door similar to adding to a wall, but instead of covering it up with drywall, they only used plastic sheets stapled to the wood (similar to adding a plastic vapor barrier).
