Nice article.. Some tips on the type of caulk.. I recommend a nonsilicone caulk.. (if you ever have to remove it silicon is almost impossible) Maybe something like Polyseamseal. Some plumbers use plumbers putty or even plaster of paris, I don't have experience with these but they sound pretty good.. BTW consider using a Fernco waxless seal if your toilet is new..
