Where I live in Colorado, we have expansive soil, generally it is recommended that the base be 4" of compacted road base, and 1" of sand under any pavers, this usually make a stable instalation

I will build this but use sandstone slab.Will I need to seal the sandstone ? it' s been outside for years,I'm recycleing it ..

I like the looks and if I can find the materials, I'll probably build a similar one. Your instructions are, as usual, simple to follow.

I do have one question: Early in the instruction you say remove the tubing from the top of the edging. Later you show how to splice the edging, including the tubing. Which is correct?

Should you seal the bricks. I laid stepping stone with the 8-brick face and a friend told me I should seal them.

What should I use. I don't think much of Thompson's water seal, is there something else on the market I could use, or is it necessary?
