be careful of the type of furnace filter you buy
the pleated type will reduce air flow. sometimes thicker isn't always better
if you have a higher end furnace that has a motor that will compensate for the resistance then you are fine.

Another wonderful article telling the average person to use pleated filters.... keeping the HVAC guys in business. got to love it.
