This was a terrific way to have a walkway around the back of my house. I had a simple landscape timber border with stepping stones and pea gravel. after @10 years the timbers rotted and began to look terrible. My wife saw this project in the mag. and wanted this and it was easy and looks great. Toget past the rotting of the wood I painted the bottoms of the base tinbers with a liquid roofing tar I got at Home Depot. It only takes a few hours to dry and now my walkway is good for a long long time. Thanks for the idea. wrb
