how would you deal with a concrete slab subfloor which requires a vapor barrier? I'm thinking of laying a floating subfloor to glue down to, but I'm not sure how best to construct it. 2 layers of 1/4 inch plywood?

Does anyone have a material list for this project, I am going to do it but have been looking for weeks for where to get 3 contrasting shades from 1 manufacturer in 3" wide and 3/8 thick. I have not been able to as of yet.

I would like to try this project but have never worked with modern snap together flooring. The samples that I saw at Home Depot have different tongue and groove on the sides and the ends and therefore will not snap together. In that case, how can you do the herringbone pattern around the outside?
I think an old hardwood floor I ripped out had the same pattern on ends and sides but that was a nail down floor which makes the project much more complicated.
Any ideas or has anyone done this project?
Thanks
