Required Tools for this Project

Have the necessary tools for this DIY project lined up before you start—you’ll save time and frustration.

    • Clamps
    • 4-in-1 screwdriver
    • Corded drill
    • Needle-nose pliers
    • Drill bit set
    • Electrical tape
    • Hacksaw
    • Non-contact voltage tester
    • Utility knife
    • Wire stripper/cutter

You'll also need a fishtape. And, if you need to run the cable through finished walls, you'll also need tools for patching and painting the holes in the walls.
