Every spring and fall, home centers offer great prices on insulating spray foam. If you're tempted to stock up, be prepared to use it right away. Most people don't know that the cans have a one-year shelf life—and that's one year from the date of manufacture, not the date of purchase. Some manufacturers print an expiration date on the bottom of the can as shown. But others use a cryptic production code. If you buy that product, make sure you use it as soon as possible.
