Community Guidelines

The FamilyHandyman.com community forums and tools are provided free of charge. By taking part in this community, you agree to the following guidelines:

KEEP IT CLEAN. Any unacceptable content (member names, posts, threads, images, or links containing profanity, sexually graphic, or offensive language) will be deleted. Participation in, suggesting or encouraging any illegal activity is cause for immediate deletion and suspension of community privileges, and may be reported to the appropriate authorities.

BE RESPECTFUL. Please respect and be civil to other members, even if you disagree with them. We will not tolerate abusive, harassing, threatening or racist behavior.

NO ADVERTISING. We do not allow posting of spam, chain letters, pyramid schemes, junk mail, affiliate links, commercial solicitation or advertising.

OBTAIN PERMISSION FOR COPYRIGHTED MATERIAL. Any articles, news reports, or other copyrighted material included in the posts must be with the permission of the relevant copyright owners.

CARE FOR YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION. These forums and groups are available to the public. Please do not post any personally identifiable information like address, phone number, or email address. As a general rule, do not post any information that you do not want made public.

PLEASE STAY ON TOPIC. Our forums cover a range of topics related to home projects for DIYers. To make the forums as valuable as possible for all members we may request you move off-topic discussions to more appropriate sites.

USE GOOD JUDGEMENT. Please keep in mind that other members may offer what seems like good advice or claim expertise that they do not, in fact, possess. Please use good judgment and discretion in following suggestions and advice.

REPORT POSTS. Please help keep our community fun and valuable for all members. If you see posts, images or links that are in violation of our guidelines, please click on the "Report Abuse" link to notify our moderators so appropriate action can be taken. (All such reports are completely confidential.)

The Family Handyman reserves the right to remove any material that does not (in our judgment) comply with these standards and to revoke posting privileges at our discretion and without warning or explanation. Our decisions are considered final.  Please refer to our Terms & Conditions.
