This is a better way to do it. whole window frames & miters are tricky.
since I don't trust my simple, manual miter box, I put the mitered piece up top firt, set the side piece the whole way up & marked each corner. then I made a line from those two marks & just sawed across. seems like the angles on framing are never exactly 45 degrees.
