Instead of the screwdriver & cloth, I use an old toothbrush (sterilize it first in the microwave or boiling water first). It is soft enough to not cause harm yet it's bristles are tough enough to get into a lot of the corners. For difficult corners, use an angled toothbrush. If you don't have an angled toothbrush, insert one in boiling water and let it set for a minute or so, then remove it and, while wearing gloves so you don't get burned, bend the handle to the angle you want. You can also use a hot air gun to heat the plastic handle, but be very careful.
