That tip on finding the reset button on a disposal is important. Also advising that egg shells and potato peals go in the trash not in the disposal..big no no .... be sure to also use some freshener every once in a while for the disposal...

The electrical outlets connected to my GFCI outlet do not work. The GFCI will not reset when I push the reset button. I checked the fuse box and there are no tripped fuses. Do I need to replace the GFCI outlet?

you can use a water cannon to SUCK the water out of the bottom of the dishwasher if you don't' have a watervac. Just pull the handle and it will fill the reservoir, gently pump it out into the sink or a dishpan nearby. I've also tried using the water cannon to force water into the pump area, hoping to dislodge an obstruction) but this only works if there is a lot of water in the tub. If you only have a gallon or less in the tub, the water will jet out all over the place and make more of a mess. I am not sure about the usefulness of using the cannon to force water INTO the pump area, I am afraid that is just forcing the debris deeper into the mechanism, so you are experimenting at your own risk.
