This special clamping straightedge helps you make a perfectly straight cut with a circular saw. The built-in clamps adjust quickly to plywood or lumber—and they're great for cutting off the bottom of doors. Just slide the back clamp until it's snug against the wood, and then press down the lever to lock the straightedge in place. The whole process takes seconds and leaves you with a securely attached straightedge with no protruding clamps to get in the way.
“I bought a CleanStream filter 10 years ago. I've worn out two shop vacuums since then, but that filter lives on,” said Gary Wentz, senior editor. “Aside from immortality, the CleanStream is also easy to clean. You can rinse it off with water, but I usually just take it outside and tap it against a tree; 90 percent of the dust drops off in 90 seconds. And, it's a HEPA filter. That means it catches fine particles like drywall and sanding dust that pass right through other filters.”

I am trying to get a complete list for a new home owner. I enjoy doing minor repairs, I also like to build picture frames, shadow boxes, hen houses, furniture upcycling, can drywall and minor minor electrical. I do not know what tools to buy, the home stores keep trying to sell me top of the line stuff that I remember my ex using for construction. I have never owned power tools and manual tools of my own because he had all the tools since he was a construction worker. Where do I start? I don't need heavy power tools and manual tools that someone building a home would need, I need power tools and manual tools for a homeowner that enjoys doing projects and repairs. Help Deanne :-{

Some of the Amazon links in this article are broken. You may want to fix them, especially at holiday shopping time.

Home Depot: Ryobi 1/2 inch Hammer Drill $69.97 I have one and it is also a 1/2 inch drill for those heavey duty jobs. I even use it as a mixing tool for thin set morter and small cement jobs.
