I found out when soldering a copper pipe and the water is dripping, I put a small piece of bread ( no crust) into the pipe and that stops the drip. Solder the pipe and turn the water on and the bread is mushie and will go through the pipe with no problem. Norm

You can also use solderless push fittings in places that are hard to get or if you do not feel comfortable soldering in tight places.

When sweating pipe fittings it is, of course, important to keep the joint dry. Stuff a piece of bread in the end of the pipe to keep the joint dry. After the joint is complete and the water is turned on the bread will turn to mush and flush right out ! Dad taught me that one years ago. JTW
