There is a better alternative to the paint spout - they sell a plastic, gallon sized, snap-on cover, with a 1.5" wide, screw on cap. Notice in the picture of this example, the red paint in the rim. Never happens with the full-sized model, since the rim is fully engaged. Taking a break? just screw on the cap and the paint stays fresh and doesn't stink up the joint. The can stays clean, and clean up of the copver is a 5 second rinse job. The spout is good, the cover is GREAT
