We were interested in repairing/replacing our 7 year old pressure treated wood deck. We wanted the area underneath the replaced deck to be waterproof, as we wanted to gain a new bonus room. With the deck being 40 x 20, we would gain almost 800 sq ft. In our neighborhood, that is a 80,000 potential increase in sell price. We did a lot of research on whether we were going to use a composite decking, coupled with a underdeck drainage system, but did not like the installation OR price of the drainage system. the warranty left alot to be desired and the reviews on the internet made me feel like underdeck drainage was NOT for us! Instead we ended up going with GutterDeck, a waterproof aluminum decking. 20 foot boards were sent. We required 80 because each board has 6 inches coverage. The installation was super fast, me and one other person got 800 sqft of flooring installated start to finish in about 6 hours. We even pre-drilled every hole, even though the fasteners were self tapping. I would definately recommend this product, because the finished look is soo consistent. there are no gaps for leaves and straw to fill. there are no worries about the material rotting away beneath our feet. We chose the almond color, because the almond sample complemented our siding and roof well. very good experience! http://www.gutterdeck.com
