I have run into a problem with GE 90W 1.4 Year Indoor Outdoor Flood Lamp 90PARH1500F25 UPC 4316866282.
When used in a Motion Detector the lamps do not last a month. I have been using flood lamps in these motion detectors for 7 years with no problems. I suspect a clue to this problem is on the package. It indicates a 1.4 year life when used 3 hours a day. It looks like 3 hours a day statement means ONLY CYCLED ONCE A DAY. Cycling more than once a day appears to reduce the life significantly! Maybe the box should say "Not for motion sensing applications" (these are sold at the most popular discount mart).

In my workshop I replaced my standard bulbs with all halogen & what a difference it made. I can see much better with this lighting which of course makes working on projects easier. They are hotter bulbs so it may increase the warmth of the area a small amount. I am willing to pay that price.
