I was installing my new garage door opener on a 16' door and it kept reversing when it was almost closed. It drove me nuts adjusting closing pressure and closing distance. Then I happened to watch it close and every time it reversed was at the beam support at bottom of garage door sticking out to far. I moved it up the door above the light beam and it works fine now. So don't over look the obstructions on your door either.

I was going to call garage door repair in Gilbert AZ just because my opener isn't working. Maybe that would've been a bad idea. Thanks for sharing this, I was thinking it would be a lot more complicated than it is.

You do not cover how to reinforce the door prior to hooking the opener to it.
This is important step.
