Split rail is the easiest fence to put in.. and it's low cost. It'll get the weathered look in about a year... I found the best thing to do is follow the lay of the land if you have a slope rather than try to have it perfectly level unless you have a small bump - I've seen people also put in gates made out of the split rail as well.. For corners you can just set a post and two rails sloping down rather than put up a whole fence and then just plant around them.
