Project to replace the trim on my home with PVC is just starting. Very informative. There are a couple of mistakes that I would have made otherwise. I am glad to know that I can paint the PVC. There are some fairly obvious areas that I need to cover. I'm replacing the 2-inch rotting brick mold with a 4-inch board with a backband. It is changing the look of the house allot!! It doesn't look like a spec house now, at all. More of a custom look. I'm finding all sorts of errors the builder made with flashing...or lack of it, so the wider board allows me to recover some water damage and get a better water barrier in place. Wish me luck!
