hi found out we have termites. we need to pull up the basement (berber) carpet from tacks on concrete ~ 4 ft. from the wall on 2 sides. can we re-use the current tacks (i.e. leave them in place)? will we need to use any tools to relay the carpet? i'm thinking no but i have no experience at laying carpets. thanks!! scott

JCurry, It's best to remove all the furniture, however, we can often stretch carpet in a room with furniture by sliding it from one side to the next.

How do you stretch room carpet past a closet with carpet. Do I need to cut the carpet at the closet doorway? Thanks.

No mention of what happens when the room has furniture but needs a carpet restretch. Does all the furniture also need to be removed from the room? Are there workarounds for furniture?

How do you restretch carpet around baseboard heaters?

If your not an installer you cannot do this. You will cut yourself and hurt your knees or back. Leave the installing carpet to the professionals. You owe it to yourself on this one. Trust me. Installer Bill
