Question - We have to shut off our water at the water heater. Do we need to turn off the water heater when we shut off the valve? And do we need to drain the water before we try and change out the dishwasher?

This is a relatively straight-forward project. I did it one afternoon... simple and money-saving!

If you have a "built-up" floor that stops in front of DW, build up the DW platform floor with Wonderboard or "Durock" or Hardiebacker. It's better if DW platform floor is 1/4" higher than lower. 22" X 24" is typical size needed. If new DW is tall tub or tall door, Stainless steel braid line is manadatort and attach to DW beforehand and thread through hole with drainline.
