Im a general contractor in the pacific northwest and I make a large number of rot repairs to homes that have OSB sheeting, a weather resistant barrier and vinyl windows. I have been researching flashing and sealing techniques for around 10 years now. The problems caused by moisture damage are not as simple to diagnos, correct or prevent as it may seem. The contradictions in the instructions provided by WRB manufacturers, flashing tape manufacturers and vinyl window manufacturers also can be confusing at best. Moisture and vapor need an exit. Steps need to be taken to prevent wicking of moisture in the materials used. I have created a website to attempt to share what I find in order to learn how to address this issue. www.homeequitycare.com
