How to Change Car Oil

This is how I do it, First run the car to get the oil hot, hot oil holds contaminets in suspension , cold oil only partially removes them, back into your garage as close to the back wall as you can get, allow a few inches, like 6 for clearance, place ramps under the tires and pull up on them, I have installed a valve made by Fram in place of the oil drain plug, they can be found on E bay? Also other drain plug valves are around if you can't find the Fram). I then drain the hot oil, close the garage door with the car on the ramp and park the car overnight . ( By fully backing into the garage you can close the garage door with the car on the ramp, easily get under the car with the garage door open and the car on the ramp) The next morning, First I close the drain valve, then remove and replace the oil filter, by this time everything is cold, no burns, service the oil using slightly less then called for, say a half quart. Wipe off any spilled oil, With the garage door open run the engine for a few minutes and check for leaks, no leaks remove car from the ramp to a level surface, turn off the engine for a few minutes and check the oil quantity, top off till full on the dip stick, do not overservice.
By the way I made my ramps from wood 2 X 10 laminated side to sidestanding on edge, with a 4X4 stop chock, secure non slip shelf liner under the ramp and it will not slip when you drive up on it, the ramp will support the heaviest weight with out fear of it collapsing
