The treatment comes in easy-to-use applicators.
Research has proven that glass treatment
products can improve your
view through your windshield in rainy
weather by as much as 34 percent. The
improved vision can increase your
response rate by up to 25 percent. That
could mean the difference between avoiding
an accident or being part of one.
Most glass treatments work by coating
your windshield with a water-repellent
silicone film. The coating makes water
bead up and improves the wiper blade's
ability to remove the water. The coating
also makes it easier to wipe off ice and
bugs.
Most conventional silicone treatments
last about one month. But a new glass
treatment
called Aquapel
achieves a much
longer service life by chemically
bonding with the glass. It should last
for six months. Aquapel and similar products are available at auto parts stores or online, with larger quantities usually discounted.
Application of Aquapel is simple. Make
sure the temperature is at least 50 degrees
F. Clean the windshield and allow the glass
to dry. Then wipe Aquapel onto the glass
and wipe it off. Then wipe on a second
coat, wipe it off and you're done.
