the instructions given are total overkill. I have repaired several windows. I have never removed the glass. Just use a piece of scrap wood to support it. I have even used a set of wires with small clips from a power source to ck the motor operation both directions. This is a simple repair. if you cant look at it and figure it out the wiring diagram as you suggest will just drive you nuts. An exceptional source for repair is you tube.
